Cincinnati Withrow handed visiting Dunbar its third straight boys high school basketball loss Friday night, 76-58.

Yancy Gates, a 6-foot-9 junior, had 25 points for Withrow, which is 10-5 and leads the Southwest Ohio Public League American Division at 6-1.

Dunbar, the defending Division II state champion and No. 3 in the state D-II ratings, is 12-4 overall and 4-1 in league play. Aaron Pogue was their leading scorer with 15.

Jefferson 79, Miami Valley 36: Jefferson continued its march toward a Metro Buckeye Conference title. It was the eighth straight win for the 14-2 Broncos. They are 11-0 in the MBC, two games ahead of Troy Christian.

Rondale Beard had a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds for Jefferson. Dwayne Sanders added 17 points.

Bellbrook 55, Eaton 40: The Eagles (11-4) moved into a first-place tie with Oakwood in the Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division, both at 8-1. Matt Farler was their leading scorer with 17.

Oakwood 81, Waynesville 52: Robby Sherk had 19 points, nine rebounds and six assists as the Jacks (15-1) won their 13th straight. They meet Bellbrook next Friday. Travis Williams scored 27 for Waynesville.

Milton-Union 67, Brookville 59: Curt Thompson had a career-high 23 points as Milton (10-5) stayed in third place in the SWBL Southwestern at 7-3.

Carlisle 63, Mid. Madison 42: Braxston Campbell scored 22 points as the Indians (12-5) tightened up the race in the SWBL Buckeye Division. Madison still leads at 7-2, while Dixie and Monroe are a half-game back at 6-2.

Dixie 69, Northridge 52: Jared Moore had 27 points, seven assists and six steals for the Greyhounds (9-6). Cooper Mohr added 15 points and nine boards. Anthony Ginyard scored 16 for Northridge.

Fairborn 59, Xenia 54: Josh Copeland had 20 points and Freddie Williams 16 as the Skyhawks (3-12, 1-6 Greater Western Ohio Conference South Division) won their first league game. DaVaughn Buntyn scored 14 for Xenia (9-6), which leads the division at 5-2.

Piqua 59, Vandalia Butler 48: David Rolf had 23 points as the Indians (10-4, 4-3 GWOC North) won their fifth straight. Matt Mineer had 15 points for Vandalia (4-11, 2-6).

Wayne 55, Spg. North 40: Jesse Solomon scored 27 for the Warriors (10-6, 4-4 GWOC Central).

Lehman Catholic 65, Newton 55: The Cavaliers (11-4. No. 4 in the Dayton Daily News D-IV ratings) extended their winning streak to seven games while stopping No. 3 Newton's seven-game win streak. Brent Schlater scored 16, Tony Reiss 15, Doug Westerheide 14 and Tyler Cianciolo 13 for Lehman. Kyler Booher had 25 points for Newton (12-4).

Girls basketball

Indian Lake 47, Tecumseh 37: The win sets up the championship game in Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division with Tippecanoe (16-2) at Indian Lake (18-0). The Lakers are 8-0 in the division after Jenna Smith scored 16 points. Tipp, 7-1 in CBC, did a 70-31 number on Urbana with Lauren Sharpe getting 16.
