An estimated crowd of over 2,000 crowd watched the Vandalia Butler-Northmont Volley for the Cure match at the Student Activity Center Tuesday night.

"You had to squint your eyes when you entered the gym because of all the pink," said Northmont athletic director Robin Spiller.

"It was the coolest thing I've ever seen at a high school event. There was no purple or green (regular school colors). We had a boys soccer game going on (between the same teams) at the same time and they all wore pink during warmups."

Butler defeated Northmont 25-16, 25-17, 25-23. The worthy event raised over $10,000 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.
