The Lockland Panthers came to Dayton Tuesday night with an impressive record and a top seed in their back pocket. It's clear the Jefferson Broncos were none-too-impressed.

Jefferson (18-6), the second seed in its bracket, shrugged off an extremely slow start to come back for an 83-59 victory in a Division IV District title contest at University of Dayton Arena. The Broncos ended Lockland's 13-game win streak while tallying their eighth consecutive victory. Dwayne Sanders paced the Broncos with 16, while Adreian Payne tacked on 12 and Jared Nolan added 11.

Extras

Things didn't look good for the Broncos early, as they trailed 13-4 in the first quarter. However, things turned around in a hurry. Jefferson exploded for a 29-10 burst, bridging the two quarters en route to a 33-23 halftime advantage. The Broncos drained four of eight 3-pointers while shooting 66 percent from the field in the opening half.

Houston 58,

Tri-Village 57, 2OT

On Tuesday night, Houston forward Dustin Schwable pulled off two of the biggest plays of his career under the most nerve-wracking of circumstances as he helped catapult the Wildcats to a thrilling 58-57 double-overtime victory over the Tri-Village Patriots in a Division IV District Championship game at UD Arena.

Schwable pulled off the first of his eye-popping feats at the end of regulation, swatting away a point-blank shot ftom Tri-Village's Ryan Buck to force the extra overtime. The senior culminated his terrific evening with the game-winning shot in the lane in the final seconds of the second overtime. Schwable finished the evening with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

"He came up big for us,' said Houston head coach John Willoughby. "Especially on the defensive end."

Seven Hills 57,

Russia 54

There was plenty of sting to go around for the Russia Raiders on Tuesday night. Russia couldn't hold a large lead en route to a tough loss to the top-seeded Cincinnati Seven Hills Stingers in a Division IV District title game at UD Arena.

Russia controlled the contest in the second and third quarters, grabbing a 46-38 advantage after three. However, the Stingers (22-1), who have won 22 straight games, ripped off nine consecutive points to open the final quarter and grab a one-point lead. Russia tied the game on a few occasions down the stretch, but never regained the lead.

"I thought we gave a great effort ," said Russia coach Paul Bremigan. "We just didn't score very much in the fourth quarter. They hit some shots and made a run on us and we didn't retaliate. Even inside 30 seconds I thought we had a chance, but we didn't make the plays."

Senior forward Mitchel Hoying paced the Raiders with 22 points, while senior center Andy Zumberger had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Hoying helped Russia secure the second-quarter lead as he tossed in 16 first-half points.
