Stivers will induct 17 into school's Hall of Fame

The Stivers High School Athletic Hall of Fame will induct 17 members in a gala celebration, Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Presidential Banquet Center.
Former University of Dayton basketball coach Don Donoher and Ohio State basketball great Bill Hosket will serve as the masters of ceremony.
Included among the inductees are three-sport star Ralph Wright who went on to Miami University, Dillis Lee, one of the stars of the 1952-53 basketball team ranked No. 1 in Ohio, All-City basketball player Mickey Morgan, who went on to Morehead State, three-sport standout Dick Bach, prep tennis legend George Fryman and All-City basketball player Bob Rolfe.
Other inductees include long-time Dayton Daily News sports columnist Si Burick, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist James "Scotty" Reston and famed cartoonist Milt Caniff, whose popular comic strips included Steve Canyon and Terry and the Pirates.
The event is open to the public. Social hour begins at noon. Dinner is at 1 p.m and the induction ceremony will end by 3 p.m. Tickets are $40. Call (937) 291-0967.
