Eaton upsets Valley View, 38-27

Dalton Caudill started off a career effort with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to lead Eaton to a 38-27 upset of Valley View on Friday, Oct.17.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound junior had 335 yards rushing and five touchdowns as the Eagles (4-5) knocked the Spartans (7-2) out of a shot at the Southwestern Division title in the Southwestern Buckeye League.

Valley View is 3-2 in the division but still has a say in which team could win by playing leader Brookville next Friday.

Brookville 32, Franklin 7: Josh Doles had 180 yards rushing and three scores as the Blue Devils (9-0) clinched a share of the SWBL Southwestern title.

Oakwood 41, Bellbrook 35, 2 OTs: Robby Sherk scored the winning TD for the Lumberjacks (7-2) on a one-yard run. That was one of his four rushing TDs and he threw for another. The Jacks (4-1 in SWBL Southwestern) can earn a share of the title next Friday if they win at Franklin and Brookville loses to Valley View.

Waynesville 23, Monroe 7: The Spartans (7-2) clinched a tie for the SWBL Buckeye Division at 5-0 with the win. It also should secure them a spot in the Division V playoffs. Cory Young had a pair of touchdown passes.

Vandalia Butler 38, Sidney 7: Chris Walker had 129 yards rushing on 15 carries as the Aviators (3-6) won their third straight. They had 362 yards rushing, including 15 attempts of 10 yards or longer.

They are in a second-place tie in the North Division of the Greater Western Ohio Conference with Troy at 2-1. They could gain a share of the title next Friday with a win over Trotwood-Madison, the North leader at 3-0.

Fairborn 33, Miamisburg 14: QB Ryan Cook threw for two TDs and Steve Riley returned a kickoff 87 yards for score as the Skyhawks (3-6) kept their hopes alive for a piece the GWOC South crown.

They are tied with Lebanon for second in the division at 2-1 and could get a portion of first place by defeating leading Springboro (3-0).

Lebanon 48, Xenia 13: The Warriors (6-3, 2-1 GWOC South) won their third straight. They can earn a tie for the title next week with a win over Miamisburg and Fairborn defeats Springboro.

Nate Woods had 182 yards rushing. QB Dusty Issacs was 15 of 21 passing for 251 yards and three scores.

Alter 48, Fenwick 0: Chris Borland, committed to Wisconsin, showed he can catch the ball as well as run it, snaring TD passes of 6, 31 and 25 yards from QB Austin Boucher. He also ran 28 yards for another score. The Knights (7-2) clinched a tie for the Greater Catholic League North Division (6-0).

Carroll 35, Cin. Roger Bacon 14: David McComas showed he is healthy after missing part of the season with a foot injury, going for 163 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown. Joe Arata added 112 yards rushing. The win broke a three-game losing streak for the 4-5 Patriots.

West Carrollton 29, Marshall 14: Steve Kocol caught TD passes of 37 and 33 yards from Adam Murphy, and Tony Wilbur had scoring runs of 45 and 67 yards as the Pirates (3-5) won their third straight.

Tecumseh 23, Bellefontaine 20, OT: Karson Williams' 23-yard field goal in the extra period kept the Arrows perfect at 9-0.

Tippecanoe 40, Kenton Ridge 13: Allen Comer had three TDs for the 8-1 Red Devils.

Miami East 20, Ansonia 14: Sam Smallwood had 250 yards rushing on 26 carries and three scores as the 9-0 Vikings clinched a share of the Cross County Conference championship, their first conference title since 1983.

Battle of the winless: Bradford and National Trail both lost, so they each take 0-9 records into their meeting next Friday at Trail. Bethel edged Bradford, 19-18, while Trail was outscored by Twin Valley South, 63-44.
