Wayne grad Mickens up for Jim Thorpe Award

The University of Cincinnati's Mike Mickens, who prepped at Wayne High School, and Ohio State's Malcolm Jenkins are among 13 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, which honors the defensive back who best exhibits performance on the field, athletic ability and character.
The list will be narrowed to three on Nov. 24 with the winner announced on the "ESPNU College Football Awards Show" on Dec. 11.
