1. Anna at New Knoxville, Sat., Dec. 13: Small-ball hoops at its best. Anna is coming off its first regional title in program history and a state semifinal appearance in D-III. New Knoxville captured the '08 D-IV state title, its first in school history. Scouting reports say the Rockets and the Rangers could be even better this season. Get your tickets early.

2. Centerville vs. Marshall; CJ vs. Jefferson, Sat., Dec. 27: The Elks and Cougars battle on the same night the Eagles and Broncos play at UD Arena. UD recruits Matt Kavanaugh and Juwan Staten are on the floor along with highly recruited Jefferson standout Adreian Payne and CJ's Ryan Bass, among others.

3. Jefferson at Trotwood-Madison, Sat., Feb. 7: These neighboring school districts have a lot of basketball history and a lot of talent on display. Findlay-bound guard Aaron Robinson and company take on a Jefferson team that has designs on a deep tournament run.

4. Wayne vs. Dunbar, Sun., Feb. 15: Two of the area's most athletic, young and talented teams showcase their skills on a Sunday afternoon at UD Arena. The Wolverines' new and inexperienced guys will have nearly a season into them as the regular season closes.

5. Alter at Centerville, Tue., Feb. 17: Perhaps Dayton's best Division I and D-II teams going at it. These programs are packed with height: 6-9 Mike Joseph will clash with 6-9 Matt Kavanaugh. A great south Dayton rivalry gets fired back up just before tournament time.
