Matt Kavanaugh
Centerville — 6-9, sr., C
Scouting report: The University of Dayton-bound center has improved his game and that should be scary for GWOC foes. Already an imposing shot blocker and rebounder, he averaged 20.8 points last season. Might provide the missing factor in Centerville advancing to state for the first time.
Adreian Payne
Jefferson — 6-9, jr., F/C
Scouting report: The next big thing in an era of exceptional players in the Dayton area. He likely will see his averages zoom from 15 points 10 rebounds and several blocks. Broncos can play up-tempo with him or let him dominate in a half-court set. Makes Broncos a legit state D-IV contender.
Josh Schuler
Graham — 6-2, sr., G
Scouting report: The University of North Dakota recruit is a shooter with plenty of range. A good ball handler, he's like a coach on the floor. Averaged 20 points leading the Falcons to the D-II state semifinals last season and is 40 points away from the school's all-time scoring record.
Ryan Siggins
Alter — 6-5, sr., F
Scouting report: The Knights were close to another state title showing last year before running into Graham. Siggins has a powerful game (16.2 points, 9 rebounds) and a supporting cast built for a tournament run that the Knights hope mirrors the football team's journey.
Juwan Staten
Marshall — 6-0, jr., PG
Scouting report: The do-everything guard has developed an all-around game to go with the smooth shooting (23 points) and effective court vision (7 assists). Knows the game inside and out and, with Greg Gainey in the fold, makes Marshall a postseason contender.
