DDN boys basketball preseason ratings

DIVISION I

1. Centerville (20-3): Elks, led by 6-foot-9 Matt Kavanaugh, have dominated in summer and preseason play.

2. Trotwood-Madison (20-5): Rams have new coach in Mark Baker and, like most seasons, plenty of size and quickness.

3. Wayne (21-3): Resurrected Warriors are young but capable of turning in another great season.

4. Meadowdale (12-10): Lions return three of City League's top scorers.

5. West Carrollton (16-6): All-Area guard Brad Eversole part of squad that has back five of top six players.

DIVISION II

1. Graham (26-1): Josh Schuler best of four starters back from state semifinalist.

2. Marshall (14-8): Cougars will be tough with Juwan Staten (23.6 points per game) and Trotwood-Madison transfer Greg Gainey.

3. Alter (17-8): Ryan Siggins (6-5, 16.9 ppg) one of smaller Knights starters.

4. CJ (16-9): Guard Ryan Bass (13.7 ppg) and a proven supporting cast will make Eagles a tough opponent.

5. Dunbar (19-3): Wolverines bringing in whole new crew after winning City League last season.

DIVISION III

1. Anna (25-2): Rockets bring back four starters from team that advanced to state semifinals.

2. Miami East (15-7): Dan Hickman (18.5 ppg) leads good shooting Vikings squad that should contend for Cross County Conference title.

3. Brookville (12-9): Experienced Blue Devils hoping to carry over success from 10-1 football season.

4. Dayton Christian (13-8): Aaron Deister top returning guard in Metro Buckeye Conference.

5. Twin Valley South (18-4): Panthers looking to repeat as CCC champs.

DIVISION IV

1. New Knoxville (27-0): Rangers are loaded with four returning starters and looking for second straight state championship.

2. Jefferson (18-6): Adreian Payne one of state's top juniors and a big 6-9 reason why the Broncos should be a state title contender.

3. Lehman Catholic (12-9): Cavaliers have good size and experienced backcourt in nonleague bid to make a deep postseason run.

4. Franklin-Monroe (14-8): Jets hoping to challenge TV South, Miami East in CCC.

5. Houston (18-4): Wildcats looking for fourth straight trip to regional.
