Dayton Christian upends Stivers
Kenny Florkey had 14 points and Aaron Deister had 13 to lead Dayton Christian's boys basketball team to a 57-47 win over Stivers on Monday, Dec. 29.
The win guaranteed the Warriors a slot in the championship game of the Northridge Veterans Holiday Tournament against host Northridge.
Despite the loss, Stivers had three players with double-figures scoring, including Aaron Stewart with 12 points. Nathan Davis had 11 for the Tigers and Kyle Sanford put up 10.
Northridge 80, Springfield Catholic Central 64: The Polar Bears outscored the Irish 38-16 in the first half and never looked back. Northridge was led in scoring by Andre Horton with 15.
St. Vincent Pallotti (MD) 49, Alter 43: Despite having three players in double digits, the Knights came up short and suffered their first lost in the St. Pius X Plus Catholic Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia. Jamerre White led the team in scoring with 15 and Mike Joseph and Ryan Siggins each had 11.
The Knights will play against St. Pius for third place in the tourney at 4 p.m. today.
