Carly Garneau and Kelley Austria combined for 31 points to lead Carroll to a 55-43 win over Miamisburg in girls basketball Saturday, Jan. 3.

The Patriots (9-2), ranked fourth in Division II in the latest DDN ratings, outscored the Vikings 15-9 in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Shannon Campbell scored 18 to lead Miamisburg (3-5).

Wayne 51, Springfield 24: Mercedes Miller's double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds led Wayne in a GWOC Central matchup at home. Miller, a 5-9 senior guard/forward, leads the GWOC in scoring.

The Warriors improve to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the GWOC. The Wildcats fall to 2-6 and 0-3.

Northmont 70, Sidney 57: Jaimie Cromwell and Sydney Copeland scored 16 points each and Krista Knapke added 10 to pace Northmont in a GWOC crossover win.

Sidney's Marissa Clark, a 5-6 senior guard, led all scorers with 31 points on 6-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.

The Thunderbolts go to 4-3 with the win.

Milton-Union 52, Northridge 47: M-U overcame a 26-21 halftime deficit to prevail at home.

Kaci Finfrock's 19 points, eight assists and nine steals paced the Bulldogs to their ninth win in 10 games. Alycia Helman and Maggie Buse added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Miami East 66, Ansonia 42: Miami East bolted to a 36-12 halftime lead and never looked back in a Cross County Conference win.

Senior center Ashley Rice and freshman guard Morgan Miller each scored 13 points to lead the Vikings (6-2, 4-0). The Tigers (3-4, 2-1) were paced by Ashlyn Hemmelgarn with 19 points.

Xenia 78, Belmont 36: The Buccaneers, ranked fourth in the DDN Division I ratings, led 54-18 at the half and cruised to their 10th straight win. Jessica Alexander led the Xenia attack with 20 points.
