Schools sign 10-year deal for hospital sponsorship

PIQUA — Piqua schools have signed a 10-year agreement that gives Good Samaritan Hospital and Upper Valley Medical Center naming rights for the athletic complex that includes Alexander Stadium.
In exchange, the Miami County school district will receive athletic training and sports medicine services and an annual $75,000 payment for facilities updates.
The agreement was announced Friday, Feb. 27.
"Our students, faculty and staff look forward to the new level of collaboration on health education and services that this agreement with bring," said Rick Hanes, Piqua schools superintendent.
The UVMC Center for Sports Medicine is located at Hyatt Center in Tipp City, along with After Hours Family Care, outpatient surgery, physicians offices, diagnostic lab and imaging.
Good Samaritan Hospital's Sports Medicine Center is located at Good Samaritan North Health Center in Englewood, which also provides outpatient surgery, breast and cancer care, cardiac rehabilitation, diagnostic and imaging services and more.
