Saturday's high school sports highlights

Matt Kavanaugh has hogged most of the hype for Centerville's boys basketball team this season. And this is why.
His free throw with 0.8 seconds left in regulation provided the difference in a thrilling 52-51 defeat of Trotwood-Madison in Saturday's Division I boys high school basketball district final at UD Arena.
"I missed the first one, and just made it a little interesting," said the 6-foot-10 "Big Kat," headed to the University of Dayton to play hoop next season.
"But I knew I was going to hit the second one."
Centerville (21-3) advances to a D-I regional semifinal at 8 p.m. on Wednesday against Wayne/Cin. LaSalle at Xavier University's Cintas Center.
Fairmont falls
The Firebirds girls lost to just two teams this season, but were beaten four times. Huh?
Three-time defending D-I state champ Cincinnati Mt. Notre Dame prevailed once again, 52-35 in a regional final at WSU's Nutter Center.
Fairmont (22-4) dropped three games to MND and another to Beavercreek.
Versailles joins Alter
The Tigers rolled over Middletown Madison 43-31 in a D-III girls regional final at Vandalia. That means they'll join Alter in this week's girls state tournament at Columbus.
Both Alter and Versailles are the defending state champs.
