• Anderson completes 19-yard pass to WR Cris Collinsworth at SF 8, but Collinsworth fumbles on a hit by CB Eric Wright.

• After Ray Wersching's 22–yard FG with 15 seconds remaining in the half, Archie Griffin fumbles Wersching's squib kick at the 4. Wersching's 26-yard FG at 0:02 gives 49ers a 20-0 halftime lead.

• Anderson culminates 9-play, 83-yard drive with 5-yard TD scramble, closing the gap to 20-7 at 11:25 of the third quarter.

• 49ers' defense completes goal-line stand at 1:17 of the third quarter.

• TE Dan Ross pulls Bengals within 20-14 on 4-yard TD reception with 10:06 to go.

• After two more Wersching FGs, Anderson finds Ross for 3-yard TD with 0:16 remaining.

• 49ers' Dwight Clark recovers Jim Breech's onside kick, and QB Joe Montana takes a knee.

• Anderson set Super Bowl records (since broken) for completions (25) and percentage (73.5), and his 300 passing yards nearly doubled the 157 of Montana, the game's MVP.

• Ross' 11 catches set a Super Bowl record (since tied).
