It ain't over. Not in the eyes of the Cincinnati Bengals' star quarterback Carson Palmer. Not with nine games to go in the 2007 season and the Buffalo Bills on today's menu.

"As bad as this season has gone for us, we've still got a shot (at the playoffs)," Palmer said. "Looking at our schedule, there's not a team we can't beat.

Extras

"It just comes down, like I keep saying, to out-executing teams. The ball bouncing your way a couple of times. There's a number of things that factor into it, but there's no reason we can't go 11-5."

Under center

Bills quarterback J.P. Losman, who replaces Trent Edwards (wrist), has a reputation for making plays with his arm and feet. Losman came off the bench and sealed Buffalo's 13-3 victory over the New York Jets last week with an 85-yard touchdown pass to Lee Evans.

"J.P.'s been tremendous," Bills coach Dick Jauron said. "Of course, he was disappointed when we named Trent the starter. He prepared on the field and off the field every week. When he had to come in the game against the Jets, he did an excellent job for himself and for us."

'Special' teams

Buffalo won the last meeting in the series — 37-27 at Cincinnati on Christmas Eve 2005 — when Terrence McGee became the first player in NFL history to record an interception return and kickoff return for touchdowns in the same game.

Teammate Roscoe Parrish leads the AFC with a 22.4-yard punt return average.

"They've got really dangerous returners," Bengals safety Chinedum Ndukwe said. "Both can fly. They do a lot of different things with their blocking schemes."
