Team wants to recapture 'that feeling'

Remember when Cincinnati beat the Ravens, 27-20, in the Sept. 10 season opener at Paul Brown Stadium?

To the Bengals, it seems like two years ago, not two months.

"Yeah, but that feeling felt good," tailback Rudi Johnson said. "That feeling we had in the locker room after the game on Monday night, coming away with a hard-fought victory, we still remember that.

"We're just trying to get back to feeling like that after a game. All we can do is fight, scratch and claw our way up out of it."

Last time around

The Bengals forced six turnovers against Baltimore and felt they should have scored more than 27 points.

"It's tough going back and watching the film," quarterback Carson Palmer said. "We didn't play very well as an offense. Fortunately, we came up with a win somehow, but it's frustrating.

"It just makes you hungrier to go out there and put better stuff on film — more accurate passes, better reads, better plays together and better drives together as a unit."

Henry's debut

Wide receiver Chris Henry's return from an eight-game suspension gives the Bengals another big-play threat. His presence should prevent the Ravens from constantly double-teaming Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

"Hopefully, we can just open it up a little more," Houshmandzadeh said.

Game within a game

Houshmandzadeh and Baltimore's Derrick Mason are tied for the league lead in catches with 62. Houshmandzadeh has 10 TDs; Mason has two.

"When you do well individually, it's cool. It really is," Houshmandzadeh said. "But at the end of the day, we're losing. So it's kind of like you're not doing enough. I'd rather have less catches and less touchdowns and be 6-2, but now we're really going uphill."

Ray Lewis' rant

Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis blasted his team's offense following Monday night's 38-7 loss at Pittsburgh. The Steelers scored 28 points off turnovers.

"Ray respects everybody around here, but at the same time he wants to win," Ravens safety Ed Reed said. "That's how he feels and he was letting it out. He was really just talking about turnovers. If we turn the ball over, obviously we won't win. That's any team in the NFL."
