Bombers in playoffs for first time since '02

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — Goals by Paul Kelly, Trevor Hendrikx and Bryce Anderson gave the visiting Dayton Bombers their first playoff berth since 2002 in a 3-2 win over the Johnstown Chiefs on Sunday.

Terry Denike had a big day in goal for Dayton, recording 30 saves.

"This is a great day for hockey fans in Dayton. It's been five years since the team has been a playoff contender," said Bombers President Costa Papista.

The Bombers are 35-22-7 with 77 points, remaining in first place in the ECHL's American Conference North Division, two points ahead of Cincinnati.
