Lewis again shreds Bengals defense
Browns running back tops 200 yards — the first to do that since Greg Pruitt in 1975.

CLEVELAND — If you neglected Jamal Lewis in your fantasy draft, it might have been a major miscalculation.
Sunday, Lewis strongly resembled the Lewis who set records against the Browns as a Baltimore Raven, but this time he ran wild for the Browns against the Bengals in a 51-45 victory in Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Lewis rushed for 216 yards on 27 carries and scored on a 66-yard run that put the Browns up 41-31 with 5:54 remaining in the third quarter. He also had a 47-yard run that led to a Phil Dawson field goal in the fourth quarter.
"He showed he still has the speed to run for a touchdown," Browns coach Romeo Crennel said. "Other teams will have to take notice."
Six times previously had a Browns running back topped 200 yards, Greg Pruitt being the most recent to do it in 1975.
"Those guys up front had a great game and the wide receivers blocked downfield," Lewis said. "That's where those big runs really come from. I just want to do what they brought me here for, to get those big runs."
The Browns' stunning ability to run the ball opened avenues for quarterback Derek Anderson, who threw five touchdown passes and won his first game as an NFL starter.
"All week we had talked about getting the offense together and everybody going hard and having each other's back," Lewis said. "The defense went out and struggled a little bit, but we had their backs."
Cleveland rolled up 554 yards of total offense, third-highest in franchise history, against a Bengals defense that had played well in an opening-day win over the Baltimore Ravens. It's the first time in their history that the Browns have had a 300-yard passer, 200-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers (Kellen Winslow Jr. and Braylon Edwards) in the same game.
"We were just humming on all cylinders today," said Edwards, who caught eight passes for a career-high 146 yards and two touchdowns. "This is what we can be about. This is the team we want to show the league. This is us."
