Thumbs down: Dusty goes. tryed to like him, but he’s terrible. Stay with the same GM for more than 2 yrs. for GODS sake. Purge all veterans over 33 yrs. old and get rid of all our guys at ss. trade Encarnacion, I’ve seen enough of his attitude. Same with Home Run Bailey. Patterson goes. He can catch a ball but that’s all the skill he has left. Freel is better, but not a starter.Thumbs Up: Keep young nucleous coming. It’s our future. Up:

Thumbs down on Red’s ticket prices. Average people can not afford $40.00 per seat for a good seat to watch just above AA talent team. I can not wait to see next year’s crowds with this area’s failing economy. You gotta love those 12,500 Monday - Thursday crowds.

Thumbs up: Joey Votto, Volquez, Cueto and Bruce! I hope to see Freel and Hopper to be in CF to start the season. Hopefully Jocketty will take more control over Baker! Remember who he had in STL? LaRussa is a much better by a long shot!!

If Dusty is going to take the rap for having not forfeited the game in SF by pitching Patterson instead of Harang then he should get equal credit for the bullpen going from the worst to one of the best in the league. Did anyone mention how WRONG all the Chicago faithful were about how Dusty handles young pitchers ? Start after start he resisted the temptation to let Volquez and Cueto throw over 110 pitches. He managed to get 17 wins out of a young gun who struggled to pitch past the sixth inning

i remember PETE ROSE…..and Ryan Freel is cut out the same way. For the Reds to win they should let Dusty go and let Freel manage until Rose gets reinstated.They let Drug users back repeatedly and yet do not let Rose back in.A joke

Thumbs down to Baker. I give him one more year if we have a successful free agency. He wore down pitchers and mismanaged the lineup in Chicago too. Thumbs up to the young guys Votto, Bruce and Volquez. There needs to be some serious urgency to add another starter and the right handed power bat we desperately need, get it done Jocketty, we know you can do it.

“Thumbs Down” Worse than all of what you just wrote, there are the fans. There is Freel’s number one fan on the fan forum, DennyRed, that wouldn’t have anyone to bash if Freel were to leave. DR is a real Athletic Supporter in more ways than one not to mention a former D’ Lo lover when he was sober, (both of them).

Just as important, it would be a mistake to dump Freel. He adds to much to the game. if he didn’t play the way he does he wouldn’t have the job he has at five different positions and two more can actually be added if needed, (catcher and SS). Besides, this will be his last year.

“Thumbs Down” for that stupid, low handed and back stabbing power play Baker and Patterson pulled in spring training on Freel, Bruce and I’m not to sure Hopper wasn’t someway park of it to as much as he was put on the back burner with Freel and Bruce. Baker is supposed to be “a player’s friend”? He is a right out lier. The moral of this team was way down and it showed all season. Peter Mac or Jerry Narrow would have been a whole lot better. If a coach hasn’t the respect of his players then…???

I was appalled when theh Reds hired Baker & my feeling didn’t change as the season unfolded! Coery was another mistake. I also am not impressed by Cordero—not worth the money; too many of his appearances were adventures & he cost us more than one game. The young guns (Bruce & Votto, & Volquez & Cueto) give hope for the future. Too many of the utility types on the roster. We need to get rid of Freel (he can’t stay healthy); Fogg & Majewski also. Need a RH power bat from somewhere.

I’m not a fan of Corey Patterson either, but what other options did Baker have in the outfield the last couple of months? Unfortunately, Hopper, Freel and Hairston were all dealing with injuries. Obviosuly, Griffey and Dunn were shipped out of town. Chris Dickerson really showed us something when he was given the chance, but he too suffered a season ending injury. I don’t think we can blame Baker too much for all of the Patterson playtime despite his miserable numbers. But if we resign him….

Harrang and Volquez both begged into that San Diego game…If they had won, we would have been praising Dusty for having guts…it failed and we crucify him…Keeping Hairston healthy would have been real interesting…I do believe the Reds record was a winning one with him in the line up…

In all fairness, Dusty Baker did do a good job with this team.Without clear leadership above him(remember Krivsky, Jocketty, and Baker went down to the wire on an opening day roster that resulted in a questionable roster to start the season). Before anyone bashes Corey Patterson too bad, tell me who played a better defensive Centerfield for this team this season. His defense saved more than a few of the 70 wins…Give Baker credit for trying to win the infamous 18 inning game…

It was scary to hear in September that the Reds were “considering” resigning Corey Patterson for next year. The argument being his defense and base-running were in short supply. What a waste that would be. You already have a now healthy Ryan Freel signed at $4 million next year and with the same skill set. He likely hits a 100 points higher to boot.

Thumbs up: Votto, Bruce, and yes - Hanigan - the best catcher on the roster, though probably not the long term answer. Thumbs up to the young pitchers, led by Volquez & Cueto. Thumbs down: Everything Hal said, and trading away our only true power threat. Here’s hoping we come up with a viable right handed power hitter to replace Dunn’s HRs. All in all, the future is brighter than it’s been in a while.

Thumbs Up: Getting rid of Krivdawg he did make some good moves over his years, a few not so good, I mean, he did hire Baker and sign Patterson and Bako

Thumbs Down: The idiotic way Baker handled our bullpen back in that 18 inning game with the Padres, thus tearing down your pitching ace Harang

Here’s hoping Walt Jockety can turn it around like he did in his Cardinal days.

I don’t think Corey P’s Flunky Dusty ” captain wristbands” baker is the right manager with all this young talent . Getting rid of captain wristband’s and his boss Corey P would help this team immensley

For the most part I like what the Reds have going into ‘09. Let most of the free agents go and, most importantly, run Dusty Baker and his sidekick Corey Paterson out of town. Every knowledgeable baseball fan I’ve talked to couldn’t believe the Reds hired Baker and, based on the mismanagement I’ve seen from him this season, I can see why. Baker must go, or ‘09 will be a repeat of ‘08 and Reds fans deserve better.

Thumbs DOWN: Dusty batting CP leadoff for two months. Slotting Griffey 3rd when the numbers screamed he should be 6th or 7th. Making Bako our starting catcher when 10 other teams reconized him for what he is: a backup! A career high for games played with 98! Enamored with lefty-righty order nonsense. Hitting Phillips clean-up for cryin-out-loud. We should fire him now.

Thumbs UP: Volquez-Cueto have the making of a solid one-two starting staff. Votto & Bruce.

“Thumbs down” for the Corey Patterson acquisition for sure. But that’s not a strong enough assessment for 1. Continuing to keep him on the roster, and 2. Continuing to put his name in the lineup. Dusty should get “The Finger” for that.
