TROY — March 6: A student at Troy High School was charged with criminal damaging for defacing several girls' bathrooms. She admitted to drawing stick figures engaged in sexual acts on bathroom partitions. She confessed to drawing and/or writing on the partitions about 20 times since December. One of the partitions had to be replaced because custodial staff had sanded and repainted it several times. The cost to replace the partition was estimated at $2,343.
Early-morning imbibing lands driver in jail
FAIRBORN — March 2: An officer responded to Marathon Gas Station, 10 W. Dayton Drive, on the report of a possible intoxicated subject. The female was parked at a pump when the officer arrived. She drove away when the officer pulled in behind her. She was asked how much she had to drink and she said she'd had a beer. She said it was about three hours ago. The officer said, "So that meant you had a beer at 9:30 a.m.?" The subject said, "Actually it was more like 8:30 a.m." There was an open container of beer in the subject's vehicle. She said she just dropped off a friend who bought a 30-pack of beer and he must have left it there. The subject performed field sobriety tests. It wasn't possible to determine if the subject's performance was due to the extremely windy conditions or possible impairment. The subject had seven open suspensions on her license. She was transported to jail and charged with driving under suspension and having an open container. She was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after two "improvised" crack pipes were found in her vehicle.
