The male victim, found lying in the road, told an officer he was in extreme pain and both legs were hurting.
He said he was "horseplaying" and jumped in front of his girlfriend's vehicle. He advised he drank three beers, misjudged the car's speed and denied they were arguing.
A witness reported the girlfriend was driving at a safe speed, and that she was looking in the backseat as if she was checking on the children.
The girlfriend advised she and the victim argued about him drinking and leaving the residence. She found him at the park, drinking, said she was done arguing and was leaving when the victim jumped in front of the vehicle. She said she wasn't trying to hit him and swerved into oncoming traffic in an attempt to avoid doing so.
There were dents on the hood; the windshield was caved in. There were no pending charges on the girlfriend. He was taken to a hospital.
Cleaning lady finds unwanted house guest in basement
DAYTON — May 8: Police were called to the 1000 block of West Grand Avenue after a female cleaning the residence observed an unknown male in the basement.
The residence was supposed to be vacant and she was cleaning for the property owner. She discovered the door unlocked when she arrived, went to the basement and observed the male.
He cursed at her when she asked what he was doing.
He left as she called police and the property owner, who told police he knew who broke in because the police were there the previous night regarding the same subject.
The owner gave police the subject's name and said he's the previous renter's son. The mother has moved, but the subject keeps returning though he doesn't live there.
