Presidents aren't dictators; Dorothy Lane Market did recall right; DDN overdoses on Obama
Friday, August 01, 2008
A recent letter writer contended that the president should be higher than the other branches of government ("Loyalty to America beats party loyalty," July 28). That's what dictators and kings do. Thank God the Founding Fathers wrote a Constitution with three equal branches and checks and balances.
Re "Dorothy Lane Market issues ground beef recall," July 29: Kudos to Dorothy Lane Market for the immediate, first-class, stand-up manner in which it handled the potential E. coli problem. The personal phone calls and e-mails informing all of its many customers went above and beyond expectations.
I think that the harder you guys at the Dayton Daily News and other media outlets try to overdose us with Barack Obama, the worse it will get for him. What you are all doing is overkill. The public is smarter than you give it credit for.
