Miami icers sweep Broncos

Campers hat trick leads RedHawks to 7-3 CCHA triumph.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Fourth-ranked Miami completed a two-game series sweep of Western Michigan with a 7-3 victory Sunday, Dec. 7, at Lawson Ice Arena.

Sophomore Carter Camper notched a hat trick and an assist to pace the RedHawks, who won their sixth straight game to improve to 10-3-3 overall and 10-2-2-1 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.

Tommy Wingels (goal, two assists), Chris Wideman (three assists) and Justin Mercier (three assists) all had three-point games for Miami, which leads the CCHA by three points over top-ranked Notre Dame.

Justin Vaive and Pat Cannone each had a goal and an assist for the RedHawks, who return home to Steve Cady Arena on next weekend (Dec. 13-14) to face RPI.
