      <description>&lt;p&gt;SIDNEY &amp;mdash; Custom Support Solutions, a just-in-time inventory and fulfillment provider, has been purchased by Kenakore Solutions, according to a news release.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Custom Support will assume the Kenakore Solutions name, the news release states.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Robert Schwab, president and founder of CSS, will become executive vice president, sales and marketing, and will become a director for Kenakore.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;With the acquisition, Perrysburg-based Kenakore, a provider of supply-chain services, will operate facilities in Perrysburg, Sidney and Van Wert, the news release states.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p/&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;The state&amp;rsquo;s hospitals doled out a record $2.2 billion of charity and discounted care and services in 2007, according to the Ohio Hospital Association&amp;rsquo;s newly released community benefit report.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It&amp;rsquo;s the first time the amount exceeded $2 billion, according to the association.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;That amount includes:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;• $893.5 million in charity care&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;• $835.7 million in Medicaid subsidization (the difference between what Medicaid pays for services and the actual cost that hospitals incur)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;• $1.04 billion in community benefit activities.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;More than half of the free care provided by hospitals &amp;mdash; $491.7 million &amp;mdash; went to patients with incomes above the federal poverty limit.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;OHA said 18 of the state&amp;rsquo;s 100 largest employers are hospitals or health systems; 333,000 people work in Ohio hospitals.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Ohio ranks fourth nationwide in the number of teaching hospitals and health systems.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p/&gt;</description>
