Mark Alstork and the Wright State Raiders withstood a huge night from Horizon League leading scorer Cameron Morse on Saturday night to pull out an 84-81 road win at Youngstown State’s Beeghly Center.
Morse scored 28 of his game-high 35 points in the second half, including 16 straight for the Penguins as they closed within 76-75 with 3:47 remaining.
But Alstork answered with a 5-0 run of his own on the way to scoring 33 to help WSU (18-9, 9-5 HL) hold on for its seventh win in the last nine games.
YSU, which rallied from 15 down at the Nutter Center to win 80-75 on Jan. 7, dropped its fifth straight to fall to 10-18, 4-11.
Justin Mitchell added 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds for the Raiders, while Grant Benzinger (12) and Steven Davis (11) also finished in double figures.
WSU returns to action Saturday afternoon at Cleveland State.
