Springfield native Adam Eaton was named American League Co-Player of the Week on Monday, along with Chicago White Sox teammate Jose Abreu.
Eaton, a 2007 Kenton Ridge High School graduate and former Miami University outfielder, hit .517 last week. He scored 10 runs and had 15 hits, five for extra bases.
Eaton has raised his average to .271, its highest point of the season. He hit .320 in July with an on-base percentage of .421.
Eaton is tied for second on the White Sox with nine home runs. He’s tied for second in baseball with eight triples.
