Bengal bites: Dillon, Anderson glad to be buddies again back in Bengaldom

A pair of former Bengals named to the team’s Top 50 (retired) players are happy about their honors, and you can just about count on Willie Anderson and Corey Dillon showing up in Cincinnati when these greats are honored this season.

Dillon, who played for the team from 1997-2003, told Bengals.com, “I texted Willie two weeks ago and we talked by text and he said, ‘Hopefully when it’s time for you to go back, let’s go back on the same ticket.’ “

Anderson is ranked 14th on the list, just ahead of Dillon at 15.

Wednesday, Anderson (1996-2007) reacted on Twitter @BigWillie7179:

Dillon, a four-time Pro Bowler, rushed for 8,061 yards and 45 touchdowns in seven seasons with the Bengals and for 3,180 and 37 in three seasons with the Patriots.

He and Anderson had a falling out of sorts years ago, and he was pleased to hear from his old teammate.

“It was cool. Lack of communication keeps a lot of stuff going,” Dillon told Bengals.com. “I’m happy we re-connected and had a good talk. Kind of let bygones be bygones. I don’t think it was a real big deal between me and him.”

Anderson runs an offensive lineman training center just outside of Atlanta, in Dunwoody, and stays active on Twitter.

Here's a look at the entire top 50 list, the last 10 of which were released Thursday morning on Bengals.com.
