Bengals make Gilberry signing official

The Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday officially announce the re-signing of defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry to a one-year contract.

Gilberry is in his second stint with the team and is entering his 10th NFL season. He gives the team depth and versatility on the defensive line as he can play end or tackle.

The Bengals signed him off the street early in the 2012 season and he appeared in 62 games with 17.5 sacks through 2015. Gilberry signed a free-agent deal with the Detroit Lions in 2016 but appeared in just four games before suffering an abdomen injury that landed him on Injured Reserve, and the Lions released a week later.

Gilberry re-signed with the Bengals in November and played in five games.

Prior to his time with Cincinnati and Detroit, Gilberry played with Kansas City from 2008-11. He as appeared in 124 career games with 23 starts and 34 sacks, seven forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries.
