5 Bengals miss practice, 8 limited

Vontaze Burfict, whose three-game suspension ended Monday, wasn’t the only Cincinnati Bengals player who returned to practice Wednesday.

Starting right guard Trey Hopkins practiced for the first time since suffering a knee injury in the season opener against Baltimore. Hopkins was one of eight players listed as limited for the Bengals, while another five did not practice.

Sitting out were tight end Tyler Eifert (back), wide receiver John Ross (knee), safety Shawn Williams (knee), safety Derron Smith (ankle) and linebacker Jordan Evans (hamstring).

Eifert, Ross and Smith missed Sunday’s game at Green Bay, while Williams and Evans left early.

The other seven players listed as limited were running back Giovani Bernard (thigh), defensive end Carlos Dunlap (neck), safety George Iloka (hamstring), wide receiver Brandon LaFell (knee), safety Josh Shaw (hip), cornerback KeiVarae Russell (hamstring) and wide receiver Cody Core (ribs).

For the Browns, wide receivers Kenny Britt (knee) and Sammie Coates (hamstring), linebacker Jamie Collins (concussion), defensive end Myles Garrett (ankle), tight end Randall Telfer (knee) and left tackle Joe Thomas (knee) did not practice.

Running backs Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson and defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah (shoulder) were limited.
