Bengals rookie WR Core to make debut; Cowboys Bryant inactive

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver James Wright is inactive for today’s game against Dallas, opening the door for rookie Cody Core to make his NFL debut.

Wright was listed as doubtful with a hamstring and will miss his first game this season.

Core led the Bengals in receptions (eight) and receiving yards (135) in the preseason, although most of his action today likely will come on special teams.

The three players listed as questionable on the injury report — guard Clint Boling (shoulder), tackle Jake Fisher (back) and running back Rex Burkhead (hamstring) — are active.

The other six inactives for the Bengals are tight end Tyler Eifert, quarterback Jeff Driskel, offensive lineman Christian Westerman, defensive tackle DeShawn Williams and cornerbacks KeiVarae Russell and Chykie Brown.

The biggest name on the Dallas inactive list is Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant, who will miss his second consecutive game with a knee injury.

Also inactive for the Cowboys are starting cornerback Orlando Scandrick, quarterback Tony Romo, running back Lance Dunbar, tackle Chaz Green, running back Darius Jackson and defensive end David Irving.
