Carroll grad/Sinclair freshman Amanda Schroeder player of week again

Former Carroll High School and Sinclair Community College freshman Amanda Schroeder has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week for the second straight week.

A 6-foot forward, Schroeder averaged 32.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals in defeats of Hocking College and Columbus State. She’s the leading scorer (26.2) for Sinclair and the second-leading rebounder (7.2).

Schroeder was the Greater Catholic League Co-Ed’s overall leading scorer (18.9) as a Carroll senior last season and second in rebounds (9.4). The Patriots (23-5) were the North Division runner-up to three-time Division II state champion Alter.

Also on the Pride are sophomores Nia Martin (Trotwood-Madison), Madison Connally-Banks (Fairmont) and Aaryn Evans (Thurgood Marshall), and freshmen Alyssa Bowman (Stebbins), Keeara Nared (Thurgood) and Myalisa Beal (Dunbar).

Sinclair (7-2, 3-0). is averaging 109.0 points. The Pride will host the Cedarville JV at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Building 8 Arena.
