Former Ohio State head football coach Jim Tressel will be among a group of 14 former Buckeyes who will be honored at tomorrow's OSU football game against Northern Illinois in Ohio Stadium.

Tressel will enter the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame. There is an induction ceremony tonight before tomorrow's public festivities in Ohio Stadium.

Tressel was fired on Memorial Day, 2011, after the university found that he had committed a number of NCAA violations, including lying about his knowledge of several football players who took money in exchange for memorabilia.

The NCAA then punished Ohio State 2012 by not allowing the Buckeyes to participate in the postseason. OSU went unbeaten in 2012 and might have played for a national title had OSU been allowed to participate.

Tressel led the Buckeyes to a national title in 2002 and helped the programs to two other National Championship Games. He was also 8-1 versus Michigan.

At the Ohio State-Michigan game in 2012, the Buckeyes welcomed Tressel and members of the 2002 National Championship team back to Ohio Stadium. Tressel was hoisted by his former players into the air as the crowd roared.

Also being honored are former football players Tim Anderson and Joey Galloway.

Tressel was also named to the College Football Hall of Fame in January.
