Don Donoher thrilled with Dayton Flyers hiring Anthony Grant

Former University of Dayton men’s basketball coach Don Donoher had Anthony Grant as a player in the 1980s - he knows him well, and he’s thrilled he’s back.

Grant’s resume includes national titles as an assistant at Florida, a run building VCU as a NCAA team, and as an assistant at Oklahoma City in the NBA.

“Not only what it means to me, but what it means to the whole fraternity of Dayton players,” Donoher said. “I had calls back from guys who played back into 50s. For us it means so much.”

Grant was with Donoher in the 1980s, when Dayton made a run to the Elite Eight and another NCAA tournament. Archie Miller took Dayton to the Elite Eight for the first tie since Donoher,

“We’ll continue to have a class program, and he has a tough act to follow.”
