Eifert, who had offseason back surgery, did not leave Thursday’s loss against Houston but trainers were stretching his back on the sideline as early as the first half.

Right guard Trey Hopkins didn’t practice but was working on the side rehab field for the first time since suffering a left knee injury in the season opener against Baltimore.

Pro Bowl defensive tackle Geno Atkins (shoulder) was one of four new additions to the injury report, although the other three, tackles Cedric Ogbuehi and Jake Fisher and rookie first-round pick John Ross, were due to illness. All four were listed as limited.

Defensive tackle Pat Sims also appeared on the report for the first time with an elbow injury, but he was a full participant while wearing a brace on his right arm.
