Xenia receiver Meechi Harris has committed to play football at Kentucky.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder announced his decision on Twitter.

He is the No. 22 prospect in the state of Ohio according to the 247Sports Composite rankings and had a large offer list coming out of spring.

Harris is one of three area players currently committed to the Wildcats, joining Lakota West teammates Xavier Peters and Tyler Bentley.

Wayne defensive end Alex Reigelsperger was set to go to Lexington but re-opened his recruiting and quickly settled on Minnesota instead.

So far a loaded 2018 class in the area has produced at least 20 Division I commits.

Harris has caught 15 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns this season for the ground-oriented Buccaneers, who switched to the triple-option under new coach Trace Smitherman.

As a junior, Harris caught 10 touchdowns passes and scored four more times on returns -- two punts and two kickoffs.
