Former Bengals RB Burkhead making rounds in free agency

After visiting the Atlanta Falcons over the weekend, former Cincinnati Bengals running back Rex Burkhead is spending Monday visiting the other Super Bowl participant.

According to a report from ESPN’s Field Yates, Burkhead is meeting with the New England Patriots today.

An unrestricted free agent, Burkhead spent four years with the Bengals, rushing for 375 yards and three touchdowns while catching 34 passes for 288 yards. Burkhead amassed 344 rushing yards in 2016 after Giovani Bernard went down with an ACL injury Nov. 20.
