At a time when the Bengals’ coaching staff is taking heat, this won’t help.

Star receiver A.J. Green didn’t record a reception in the second half of a 29-14 loss in Pittsburgh Sunday. Note that the teams were tied at 14-14 after four first-half possessions.

Making matters worse, Joe Mixon didn’t run the ball once. He averaged 6.9 yards a carry in the first half. Things didn’t get so far out of hand to warrant abandoning the rushing attack.

Ken Zampese lost his job because of the inability to use offensive weapons, yet the Bengals found themselves in the same spot again Sunday. If they’re going to bounce back from 2-4 and get back in the race, it’s going to require a heavy use of Green and Mixon.
