Ohio State Buckeyes: Wayne grad’s new hair color draws mixed reviews from teammates

Ohio State defensive linemen dyes his hair red before Cotton Bowl

No one showed more school spirit for the Ohio State Buckeyes at practice Tuesday than Wayne grad Robert Landers.

Earlier this year, the redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Landers, whose nickname is BB, dyed his hair blonde. Now he’s gone scarlet for the Cotton Bowl. His hair, at least on top, is the same color as the numbers on the jersey.

The new look got mixed reviews from his teammates.

Wide receiver Parris Campbell: "I think it looks terrible. He looks bad. I'm just going to leave it at that. They say he looks like the mascot. BB's kind of a guy that really doesn't care what other people think. I'll let him do this thing, but he looks bad. I tell him that, too."

Offensive lineman Jamarco Jones: "BB's a character. I don't think it looks too bad. Whatever Beebe wants to do, it's his hair. I think the red does look better than the gold."

Quarterback J.T. Barrett: "It kind of threw me off because it was red, and then the color before that, I didn't know exactly what it was. I want to know what my mom said about it because I know my mom said something about it, and she comments on everybody and really doesn't have a filter. I'm going to ask my mom what she thinks. He switches it up on everybody. He's a character. I wasn't too surprised. His color choice, I was a little surprised."

Wide receiver Terry McLaurin: "He works hard, but we're definitely giving him a hard time. It seems like it's always something new, but he's a cool dude. I think he needs some attention. Sometime on that D-line, you don't get attention like a wide receiver. It's his hair, I guess.

Running back J.K. Dobbins: "I don't know what that dude is doing with his hair."
