HS Results 9/30: Belmont football remains unbeaten

Belmont kept its unbeaten season alive with a 62-6 drubbing of Hughes in Saturday high school football action.

Quarterback Rian Reeves accounted for three rushing touchdowns and a passing score to Dawson Martin in leading the offense. Chris Hunt, Elijah Malcolm and Brian McKenzie added a rushing TD apiece.

Belmont improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Bison have outscored opponents by a combined score of 260-9 with wins over Dunbar, Fenwick, Thurgood, Meadowdale, Woodward and now Hughes.

Up next is Ponitz on Thursday at Welcome Stadium.

Chaminade Julienne 45, Purcell Marian 14: Chaminade Julienne improved to 4-2 with the cross-conference victory. CJ will face Roger Bacon next on Friday.

McNicholas 28, Carroll 0: Cole Burdick tossed a pair of touchdowns to lead McNicholas. Carroll has dropped five straight after a season-opening win over Stebbins.

Detroit Central Catholic 56, Dunbar 32: Dunbar had a four-game win streak snapped in the loss.

Boys Soccer

Kenton Ridge 2, Fenwick 0: Quinton Roach and Brandon Gibson knocked in the goals for KR.

West Liberty-Salem 7, Fairbanks 2: Neil Markin poured in four goals and Ethan Cole added four assists with a goal to lead WLS.

Catholic Central 2, West Clermont 1: Bryce Roberts knocked in both goals and keeper Jacob Woeber tallied three saves for CC.

Yellow Springs 4, Lehman Catholic 3: Jake Emrick scored twice but a Yellow Springs rally in the second half

Girls Soccer

Monroe 4, Chaminade Julienne 1: Tabi Larrison tallied a goal and an assist to lead Monroe. Greta Spees scored the lone goal for CJ.

Milton Union 1, Miami East 0: Kristen Dickison netted the lone goal off a Morgan Grudich assist.

Graham 2, Emmanuel Christian 0: Madison Smith tallied 12 saves in a losing effort for EC.

Greeneview 7, Franklin Monroe 2: Faith Rutherford scored twice and Alexa Simpson had a goal with two assists to help Greeneview move to 12-1.

West Liberty-Salem 5, Fairbanks 1: Gabby Hollar tallied three goals and keeper Rachel McGill added 12 saves to help WLS remain unbeaten.

National Trail 4, Yellow Springs 3: Trail held off a second-half rally from Yellow Springs for the win.

Anna 3, St. Marys Memorial 0: Taylor Noll netted all three goals for Anna.

Coldwater 6, Ada 1: Maura Hoying carried Coldwater with three goals.

Girls Volleyball

Miamisburg 3, West Carrollton 0: Caroline Mays put up 10 kills, Kaitlyn Whitesell added nine kills with 2 blocks and Yasmine Shivere recorded her first varsity kill.

Bradford 3, Northridge 0: Cassi Mead totalled 12 digs with four kills and five aces and Bailey Wysong added three aces with three digs and seven kills for Bradford.

New Knoxville 2, St. Marys 1: Taylor Doty put up 12 kills with 10 digs for NK, which also beat Lima Shawnee on Saturday.

Fort Recovery 3, Fort Loramie 0: Sophia Albers tallied 18 assists in a losing effort for Loramie.

Cross Country

Charske Firebird Invitational: Conant Smith of Middletown led the pack in the boys silver race with a 15:06.1. Beavercreek finished fourth and Lebanon fifth. Faith Duncan of Lebanon won the girls silver race and Zoe Chappelle of Springboro was runner-up.

Buck Creek Invitational: The WLS girls, ranked No. 4 in the Division III state poll, ran to a first-place finish at the invite. Katelyn Stapleton finished fifth overall with a 19:12, followed by teammates Grace Adams (19:28.8) and Reghan Bieleski (19:30.5).
