H.S. Results for 12/9: Barnes seals win for CJ boys

Nick Barnes sank a pair of free throws with 1.2 seconds to play to lift the Chaminade Julienne boys basketball team to a 60-58 win over McNicholas on Friday night.

Christian Montague led CJ with 26 points while P’Hariz Watkins added 21.

McNicholas rallied from a six-point deficit to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, setting up Barnes’ heroics.

Chaminade Julienne improved to 2-1; McNicholas fell to 1-1.

Northmont 71, Lebanon 50: Vinson Walker tallied 18 points, Arius Spears added 15 and Rodney Richardson had 11 for Northmont. Lebanon was led by Parker Smith with 21 points.

Miamisburg 64, West Carrollton 47: Duncan Hall scored 14 points and Evan Fox added 12 to lead Miamisburg, which pulled away with a 22-8 swing in the second quarter. Veshawn Champion scored 13 points for West Carrollton.

Vandalia 39, Piqua 37: Miles Joiner had 11 points and Quentin Glover and Tyler Burley added 10 apiece for Vandalia.

Sidney 80, Tippecanoe 73: Andre Gordon poured in 31 points and Ratez Roberts and Isaiah Bowser each added 16 to help Sidney hold off a Tippecanoe rally. Tipp, led by Josh Wildermuth with 16 points, put up 31 points in the final quarter.

Stebbins 56, Xenia 51: Mickael Mayo tallied 19 points for Stebbins. Samari Curtis sank five three-point baskets on the way to 31 points for Xenia.

Oak Hills 60, Hamilton 58: Jaylen Robinson put up 29 points but Hamilton's rally fell short.

Lakota East 61, Lakota West 39: Jarett Cox paced East with 25 points and Evan Kuhlman added 18 points with seven rebounds. Malachi Hughes scored 12 points for West.

Alter 68, Purcell Marian 41: Dominic Laravie poured in 33 points and James Finke added 14 to help Alter win its season opener.

Fenwick 61, Badin 48: Paul Blodgett's 18 points helped Fenwick cruise to the victory. John Marot had 14 points for Badin.

Roger Bacon 52, Carroll 46: T.K. Robinson scored 14 points but Carroll fell victim to a Roger Bacon rally.

Northwest 63, Edgewood 56: Eddie Driskell had 18 points and Ethan McCarty added 12 points with 10 rebounds in a losing effort for Edgewood.

Dixie 43, Waynesville 42: Devin Worley scored 18 points and Seth Grubb hit a buzzer-beater to put Dixie on top. Micah Schenking paced Waynesville with 16 points.

Bellbrook 66, Eaton 45: Donnie Crouch paced Bellbrook with 23 points and Jack Campbell hauled in 10 rebounds. Grant Sullender led Eaton with 14 points.

Carlisle 56, Northridge 39: Seth Butler chipped in 16 points and Justin Flor added 13 to help Carlisle hand Northridge its first SWBL Buckeye Division loss since the 2013-14 season.

Madison 60, Middletown Christian 44: Grant Whisman scored 23 points and also reached double-digit rebounds for Madison. Ben Paarlberg also had a double-double.

Dunbar 78, Belmont 59: Caleb McConnell had 19 points and Devon Baker added 14 as Dunbar put the game out of reach in the first half.

Thurgood 44, Meadowdale 39: Kadeim Jones, who is averaging 28 points a game, led Thurgood with 18 points.

Stivers 63, Ponitz 54: Trevon Ellis led Stivers with 16 points. TyKell Brooks had 16 points for Ponitz.

Cedarville 72, Triad 51: Colby Cross scored 18 points and Nick Christman added 17 for Cedarville. Hadley LeVan led Triad with 23 points.

Catholic Central 67, Mechanicsburg 36: Sabien Doolittle paced Catholic Central with 15 points and Jacob Woeber chipped in 12. Chris Taylor led Mechanicsburg with 17 points.

Greeneview 48, Northeastern 34: Ethan Bradds and Mason Schneider each chipped in 19 points to lead Greeneview.

Emmanuel Christian 54, Yellow Springs 53: Adonis Davis recorded 27 points with 11 rebounds and Fred Hopshire had 12 points including the game-winning basket for Emmanuel Christian. Tony Marineli led Yellow Springs with 14 points.

Miami East 64, Bradford 52: Logan West poured in 34 points with 11 rebounds as Miami East used a hot start to pull away from Bradford. Andy Branson led Bradford with 28 points.

National Trail 65, Arcanum 53: Dalton Mason scored 18 points and Weston Haws added 15 for Trail.

Ansonia 65, Newton 63: Aydan Sanders scored 22 points and Hunter Muir added 11 to help Ansonia edge Newton.

Bethel 73, Mississinawa Valley 54: Ethan Bowman had 20 points in a losing effort for Mississinawa.

Fort Loramie 71, Botkins 34: Dillon Braun put in 16 points and Eli Rosengarten and Cody Gasson added 10 apiece for Fort Loramie. Luke Bergman had 23 points for Botkins.

Russia 41, Jackson Center 31: Cole Tebbe tallied 12 points and Dylan Cordonnier added 10 for Russia. Brady Wildermuth scored 16 points for Jackson Center.

New Knoxville 47, Waynesfield 30: Nathan Tinnerman scored 18 points as New Knoxville opened on a 24-10 run to take control.

Fort Recovery 64, Delphos Jefferson 50: Micaiah Cox tallied 22 points with 10 rebounds and Caleb Martin added 12 points with five assists for Fort Recovery.

St. Henry 65, St. Marys Memorial 49: Parker Link recorded 19 points and Mitch Schwieterman added 17 for St. Henry. Derek Jay had 30 points in a losing effort for St. Marys.

Temple Christian 52, Parkway 50: Seth Hohlbein had 19 points and Noah Howell added 18 as Temple Christian used a 24-9 swing to pull ahead of Parkway in the second half then held off a fourth quarter rally for the win.
