H.S. Results for 5/13: Fairborn softball splits double header

Today’s games meant something a little more to Fairborn’s varsity softball team as both games were played in remembrance of Sarah Huelsman.

The Skyhawkas lost the opener against Springfield, but still fought hard throughout the game.

Chloe Becraft and Jordan Wilson led the team offensively, each going 2-for-4.

Taylor Rice hit a three run homerun, while Riley Davis, Ashlyn Baker, Hannah Borchert and Sophia Ceyler each chipped in a hit.

The second game, however, was a different story for Fairborn as they defeated Xenia, 8-5.

Everyone in the Skyhawks lineup earned a hit in the final game of the year.

Riley Davis, Ashlyn Baker, and Chloe Becraft all went 2-for-4 on the night, while Taylor Rice, Jordan Wilson and Hannah Borchert all registered a hit.

Rice earned the win for Fairborn with six strikeouts, ending her high school career on a high note.

Fairborn won the GWOC South title to end their season.

Softball

Triad 7, Southeastern 5: In Triad’s regular season finale, Collier earned the win on the mound. Ehrenborg went 3-for-4 with two homeruns, a double and five RBIs, while Dolby also went 3-for-4, chipping in a homerun and a triple.

Covington 4, Franklin 3: Justice Warner and Sarah Hubbard each had multiple hits for Covington, additionally driving in a run each to contribute to Covington’s victory over Franklin.
