H.S. Results for 1/17: Franklin boys avoid upset

Konnor Black scored all of his game-high 14 points in the second half Tuesday as Franklin remained unbeaten in the Southwestern Buckeye League boys basketball by fending off upset-minded Eaton, 58-57.

Payton Knott added 11 for Franklin (11-1 overall, 6-0 SWBL), which missed a free throw with 3 seconds to play. Eaton (5-9, 0-5) rebounded and got off a final shot, which missed at the buzzer.

Trevor Pittman led Eaton with 21 points.

Boys Basketball

Chaminade Julienne 69, Thurgood Marshall 53: P'Hariz Watkins scored 31 as CJ improved to 9-4.

Fairborn 59, Beavercreek 49: Shaunn Monroe scored 19 points and Branden Lilley added 17 as Fairborn used a 10-point swing in the third quarter to take control. Jon Alessandro paced Beavercreek with 16 points.

Miamisburg 62, Bellbrook 35: Jason Hubbard had 13 points and Duncan Hall added 12 as 10 different players scored for Miamisburg. Donnie Crouch scored 11 points for Bellbrook.

Lakota East 53, Wilmington 35: Jarett Cox scored 20 points and Jackson See added 13 for East, which opened the game on a 12-3 run.

Coldwater 67, Greenville 64: Marcus Bruns scored 19 points and Coldwater sank 14 of 18 free throws in the fourth quarter. Isaiah Gable scored 20, Aaron Rich 18 for Greenville.

Fenwick 59, Monroe 42: Fenwick outscored Monroe 18-6 in the second quarter. David Luers (12), John Engelmeier (11), Luke Bradshaw (11) and C.J. Napier (10) all reached double figures for Fenwick.

Glen Este 58, Ross 43: Joey Wright scored 11 points for Ross, which slipped to 3-10 on the season.

Greenon 57, Cedarville 41: Austin Swope scored 22 in Greenon's victory.

Springboro 60, Wayne 59: Springboro handed Wayne its third consecutive loss. Both teams are 9-5 overall.

Springfield Shawnee 54, Stebbins 47: Camden Van Velzor led Springfield Shawnee with 19 points. Mickael Mayo had 18 for Stebbins.

Stivers 74, Kenton Ridge 59: Tony Boddie scored 25, Miles Clark 21 and Paris Minniefield 12 as Stivers converted 18 of 20 free throws in the win. Jameel Cosby led Kenton Ridge with 15 points.

Fairlawn 101, Mechanicsburg 43: Nathan Lessing poured in 29 points with seven rebounds to lead four players in double-digit scoring for Fairlawn. Joey Mascadri paced Mechanicsburg with 16 points.

St. Marys Memorial 48, Troy 43: Derek Joy of St. Marys scored 21 of his 28 points in the second half. Ryan McClurg led Troy with 16.

Sidney Lehman 65, Triad 52: Hadley LeVan's 28 points led Sidney Lehman.

Temple Christian 60, Cory-Rawson 44: Brody Bowman poured in 27 points and Noah Howell added 15 for Temple Christian.

Wapakoneta 69, New Knoxville 39: Wapakoneta took an 18-6 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Jonah Lageman led New Knoxville with 14.

West Liberty-Salem 55, Riverside 35: Kannon Stillings topped WLS with 23 points.

Ansonia 62, Newton 54: Trinity Henderson tallied 23 points to lead Ansonia.

Arcanum 40, National Trail 32: Payton Laird led National Trail with 12 points.

Carlisle 69, Belmont 16: Christa Harris led Carlisle with 15 points.

Fort Recovery 51, South Adams 31: Grace Thien had 12 points and Carley Stone and Whitney Will added 10 apiece to for Fort Recovery.

Franklin Monroe 49, Brookville 23: Corinia Conley's 16 points and 12 rebounds led Franklin Monroe.

New Bremen 64, St. Marys Memorial 60: Macy Puthoff scored 19 points and Kelly Naylor and Kayla Bergman added 13 apiece for New Bremen. Sidney Cisco and Shanna Taylor scored 17 each for St. Marys.

Southeastern 65, Bradford 34: Leslie Flores, Maddy McKee and Jessica Erwin each had 18 points for Southeastern.

Springboro 59, Lakota East 31: Haylie Crouch scored 17, Jordan Diehl 15 and Lily Browning 11 for Springboro (11-3). Secret Hughes led Lakota East with 10.

Twin Valley South 75, Middletown Christian 71: Mylan Crews led the Panthers with 25 points and 7 steals, while Kelsie Shafer added 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Aubriana Bellard scored 29 for Middletown Christian.

Union City 56, Mississinawa Valley 28: Union City doubled up despite 12 points from Kelsie Hunt and 11 by Mikayla Stump.

Valley View 53, West Carrollton 35: Chloe Smith led Valley View (9-4) with 16 points.

Xenia 45, Greenville 39: Trinity Morton-Nooks paced Xenia with 18 points. Cassie Cromwell had 9 points to lead Greenville.
