H.S. Results for 4/17: Kenton Ridge softball shuts out Urbana

In a Central Buckeye Conference showdown, Kenton Ridge emerged victorious, shutting out Urbana 11-0.

Carly Turner was the winning pitcher for Kenton Ridge and is now 10-1 on the season. She struck out 12 batters in the Kenton Ridge victory.

Peyton Fleming went 2-for-5 with three RBIs and a double, while Jordan Rucker went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple. Carly Turner also had a double and a triple, going 2-for-4 on the night.

Kaylee Frank had three runs for Kenton Ridge.

Olivia Lee went 3-for-4, Paige Williams went 2-for-4 and Maci Runkle also went 3-for-4.

Baldwin and Moffitt each had doubles for Urbana.

The win moves Kenton Ridge to 12-2 overall, 5-1 in the CBC, while the loss drops Urbana to 2-11 overall, winless in the CBC thus far this season.

Southeastern 3, West Liberty-Salem 1: A. Lyons was the winning pitcher for Southeastern with five strikeouts. J. Connor, Tr. King and H. McKee had the runs for Southeastern. Humphrey had the lone run for West Liberty-Salem.

Hamilton 4, Princeton 2: Ryan Kellum was the winning pitcher, while Jake Pennington earned his first save for Hamilton. Reid Ruhl had a triple and an RBI, while Zach Bell went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Hamilton. Tubbs went 2-for-3 for Princeton.

Cincinnati Christian 1, New Miami 0: Zach Bush was the winning pitcher for Cincinnati Christian with 11 strikeouts. Bush went 2-for-2 while Alec Gregory had an RBI for Cincinnati Christian in their win.

Fairfield 5, Mason 1: Kurt Lange was the winning pitcher for Fairfield with seven strikeouts. Andrew Sams went 2-for-4 while Evan Trentman had two runs for Fairfield. Haas had a triple for Mason.

Ross 6, Northwest 5: Montana Allgaier was the winning pitcher for Ross. Andrew Beebe had the game winner with a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 7th. Thomas House and Brennan Morton each went 2-for-3 for Ross. Tyler Hines went 2-for-4 for Northwest and Cory Breedon went 2-for-2.

Madison 5, Milton-Union 1: Ethan Limon was the winning pitcher for Madison with seven strikeouts. Dustin Skinner went 2-for-4 with one run, two hits and two RBIs. Blake Smith had the lone run for Milton Union.

Riverside 7, Upper Scioto Valley 4: Aaron Kean was the winning pitcher for Riverside with one strikeout. Trey Lane and Josh Ritzma each had two RBIs for Riverside.

Tippecanoe 10, Greenville 2: Evan Ford was the winning pitcher for Tippecanoe. Brad Calhoun and Zach Losey each hit three-run homeruns, while Trevor Staggs, Clay Barney and Josh Riebe also had RBIs.

St. Mary’s 4, St. Henry 0: Derek Jay was the winning pitcher for St. Mary’s with one strikeout. Austin Cook went 2-for-3 for St. Mary’s. Rylee Deitsch went 2-for-3 for St. Henry while Ryan Luther chipped in a double.

Butler 9, Troy 2: Norman was the winning pitcher for Bulter. Grossman was 3-for-6 with a double and an RBI. Burley went 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Mitchell also went 3-for-5 with two RBIs.

Mississinawa Valley 8, Randolph Southern 2: Cameron Shrimp was the winning pitcher for Mississinawa Valely with six strikeouts. Andrew Johns went 2-for-4 with two runs, while Erthan Dirksen went 2-for-4 with two runs. Slick and Saylor had the runs for Randolph Southern.

Fairborn 10, West Carrollton 1: Damian Burnett was the winning pitcher for Fairborn. Will Coleman led the team offensively, going 3-for-3 with a double, three runs, a stolen base and two RBIs. Jon Fields went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and three RBIs.

Softball

Russia 7, Fort Loramie 0: Russia had nine hits while Fort Loramie had three. Marie Herron went 2-for-2 with two doubles for Russia, while Grace Saunders also had two doubles. Kylie Shortman had her first homerun.

Fenwick 11, Purcell Marion 1: Jess Finley was the winning pitcher for Fenwick with six strikeouts. Annabelle Thomas went 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBIs for Fenwick. Teammate Sam Bany added in one RBI while going 2-for-2.

Triad 13, Cedarville 0: Eaton was the winning pitcher for Triad. Dixon went 2-for-2 with a triple and a homerun, while Dolby and Ehrenborg also chipped in a homerun each.

Monroe 7, Eaton 1: Wagner was the winning pitcher for Monroe. Sarah Eschmeyer and Alexis Arnold both went 3-for-4 and Arnold chipped in an additional two RBIs and a double.

Badin 14, Chaminade Julienne 1: Nicole Rawlings was the winning pitcher for Badin with nine strikeouts, moving her to 14-0 on the season. Gracie McHugh went 3-for-4 with three triples and four RBIs for Badin. Carly Fugett went 2-for-2 with a triple for CJ.

Ross 7, Northwest 2: Kenzie Meyer was the winning pitcher for Ross. Haley Grau went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Whitley Arno went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Fairborn 23, West Carrollton 2: Kenzie Shaver was 4-for-4 with her first ever cycle. Ashlyn Baker was 3-for-4 with six RBIs, a single, a double and an homerun. Taylor Rice was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a double, while Bryanna McLean was 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs.

Lebanon 11, Northmont 1: Alexis Strother was the winning pitcher for Lebanon. Strother also went 2-for-4 with an double and an RBI. Ashley West went 1-for-2 with a homerun and three RBIs, while Grace Gressly went 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBIs.

West Liberty-Salem 6, Southeastern 3: Kelsey Day was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts. Day was also 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs. L. Flores was 2-for-4 with a double for Southeastern.

Dixie 14, Northridge 2: Runnels was the winning pitcher for Dixie with 11 strikeouts. Ruppert went 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs, one stolen base and one run.

National Trail 4, Bradford 2: Elizabeth Glander was the winning pitcher for National Trail with one strikeout. Bobbi Grimes led the team offensively with a double, going 2-for-3 on the night. Savanna Abner chipped in a double and two RBIs.

Greenon 2, Ben Logan 1: L. Romine was the winning pitcher for Greenon. Talsha Bowshier led Ben Logan offensively with one RBI, going 2-for-3 on the night. Darian Rockhold followed close behind, going 1-for-2 with a double.

Boys Tennis

Miami Valley 5, Oakwood 0: Colton Moreheart, Michael Perevozchikov, Reece Quigley (singles), Makul Sharma/Niyanth Reddy and Joe Keller/Amin Ahmed (doubles) all won their sets to sweep the match for Miami Valley.

Urbana 5, Legacy Christian 0: Bailey Ulan, Trevor Johnson (singles) and Cole Areola/Ethan Burniser (doubles) won their sets for Urbana. Legacy Christian had to forfeit their 3rd singles and 2nd doubles sets.

Tecumseh 5, Bellefontaine 0: Mitchell Foland, Michael Green, Drew Sarihan (singles), Christian Hunt/Johan Goksor and Scott Sinkhorn/Jacob Lewis all won their sets for Tecumseh in their sweep of Bellefontaine.

Spg. Shawnee 3, Greenon 2: Daniel Detrick (singles), Chris Hiles/Tanner Brown and Stef Gaffney/Bryce Peters (doubles) won their sets to win the match for Spg. Shawnee.

Northeastern 4, Springfield 1: King, Brown (singles), Foreman/Parsons and Morscher/Calhoun (doubles) all won their sets to win the match for Northeastern. Dhingra got the lone singles win for Springfield.

Valley View 5, Miamisburg 0: Noah Devillez, Skyler Hamm, Lane Powell (singles), Dustin Abner/Ben Johnson and Adam Michael/Dawson Hamm all won their sets for Valley View to sweep Miamisburg.

Beavercreek 4, Fairmont 1: Chong, Orloff (singles), Guthrie/Enukonda and Zuo/Xiao (doubles) all won their sets to win the match for Beavercreek. Nawas had the lone singles win for Fairmont.

Sidney 3, Lehman Catholic 2: Prem Dev, Diachi Urata and Logan Searcey swept their singles sets to win the match for Sidney.

Celina 4, Greenville 1: Garrett Weininger, Drew Rosengarten (singles), Bryce Lagenkamp/Kyle Lochtefeld and Sahaib Saleem/Garrett Farlow (doubles) won their sets to win the match for Celina. Craig Manges had the lone singles win for Greenville.

Valley View 5, Carroll 0: Justin DeVilbiss, Chase Midkiff, Ian Barnett (singles), Ben Holbrook/Ben Lewan and Michael Fischer/Carter Nolte (doubles) all won their sets to sweep Carroll.

Lebanon 3, Preble Shawnee 2: Josiah Franer, Keith Kordowski (singles) and Josh Newberg/Constantine Stroplos (doubles) all won for Lebanon to win the match. Pierce Elliot had the lone singles win for Preble Shawnee and the team of Alec Hamblin/Chris Allen walked away with a doubles win.

Eaton 5, West Carrollton 0: Breven Perry, Brad Kramer, Cody Frizzell (singles), Andrew Collins/Branson Ball and Dylan Hauser/John Altom (doubles) all won for Eaton in their sweep of West Carrollton.

Tippecanoe 3, Xenia 2: Colin Achterberg, Evan Hill (singles) and Christian Blake/Levi Berning (doubles) all won their sets for Tippecanoe to win the match. Zane Cukovecki (singles) and Chris Brodsky/Michael Graham (doubles) won their sets for Xenia.
