H.S. Results for 4/25: Munchel’s clutch hit carries Tri-Village

Christian Ricker was outstanding on the mound and Camren Munchel’s RBI hit helped Tri-Village come away with a 1-0 win over Franklin Monroe in baseball action Tuesday.

In the bottom of the sixth inning Camren Munchel doubled in Luke Wheeler from second base to plate the lone run. Wheeler went 2-for-2 on the night and Mason Sullenbarger was also 2-for-2.

Ricker scattered six hits over seven innings, striking out three in the complete-game win. He benefitted from some solid defensive plays, with catcher Jonny Wilson throwing out a runner and outfielder Jared Buckley nailing the potential go-ahead run at the plate on a one-hop.

Bryce Filbrun was tagged with the tough loss for FM, striking out four and walking two over six innings.

Baseball

Northmont 5, Springboro 2: Facing a two-run deficit entering the final two frames, Northmont rallied for the victory. Caden Cronebach and Will Ludington each had clutch RBIs and Cole Stephens picked up the win. Ethan Brickner and Bryce Haberthier both scored runs for ‘Boro.

Lebanon 5, Miamisburg 4: Mitch Esposito doubled and homered and Tommy Brosnahan was 2-for-2 with a double to lead Lebanon, which knocked in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning.

Vandalia 10, Sidney 0: Tyler Burley picked up his fifth win, Damon Dues was 3-for-3 with a double and Joe Jackson doubled and drove in four to lead Vandalia.

Centerville 6, Springfield 1: Troy Wenning doubled, Alex Firsdon was the winning pitcher and Shea Hendrixson tacked on the save for Centerville.

Badin 7, Loveland 6: Will Sackenheim tossed seven innings in relief to get the win. Daunte DeCello was 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI to carry Badin offensively.

Tecumseh 9, Bellefontaine 6: Nick Yeary had a 5-for-5 night with four RBI and Davey Berner brought in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning to lead Tecumseh. Cole Braun doubled for Bellefontaine.

Indian Lake 11, Ben Logan 4: Dylan Albright had three hits and two RBI and Parker Grothaus drove in three to lead Lake. Cole Waugh plated four runs for Ben Logan.

Northeastern 5, Southeastern 3: Mac Davis drove in three runs and Bo Davis and Dylon Hand plated a run apiece to help NE win in rally fashion. Trevor King had a RBI for SE.

West Liberty-Salem 11, Cedarville 8: WLS exploded for seven runs in the third inning to stake an early lead, then held off a Cedarville rally for the win. Trevor Burden, Dillon Callicoat and Chase Humphrey

Miami East 10, Tri-County North 9: East scored six runs in the seventh inning to cap off a late rally. Tanner Booth led TCN going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBI.

Russia 5, Anna 4: Hunter Cohee homered and Kevin Drees was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for Russia. Colin Wuebker paced Anna, going 2-for-3 with a double.

New Bremen 7, New Knoxville 2: Luke Vonderhaar was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Ryan Bertke drove in two to lead New Bremen. Corey Kuck had a RBI for New Knoxville.

Lehman Catholic 13, Riverside 2: Parker Riley went 2-for-3 with three RBI to lead Lehman Catholic. Zayne Hakes and Trey Long plated a run apiece for Riverside.

Softball

Xenia 7, West Carrollton 6: Madi Mills went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI and Makalya Woody got her 100th career hit in a losing effort for West Carrollton.

Hamilton 9, Fairborn 1: Mya Halcomb tripled and Jasmine Clemmons, Annie Hudson and Destiny Anderson each doubled for Hamilton. Riley Davis was 2-for-4 for Fairborn.

Monroe 16, Oakwood 2: Faith Hensley, Sarah Eschmeyer and Alexis Arnold all homered and Alyssa Wagner improved her record to 9-0 in the win for Monroe.

Franklin 11, Brookville 5: Shelby Raby homered and notched her seventh win on the mound and Brooke Stover and Haley Adams each went 2-for-4 to lead Franklin.

Madison 6, National Trail 3: Madison jumped ahead early with a three-run third inning. Kayleigh Minner singled in two runs in a losing effort for Trail.

Ben Logan 9, Indian Lake 4: Gracie Dearduff was the winning pitcher, Darian Rockhold homered and went 3-for-4 and Kinzie Jones was 2-for-4 with two RBI for Ben Logan.

Triad 14, Catholic Central 0: Abby Ehrenborg pummeled two home runs and Madison Dolby was 3-for-3 with a triple to lead Triad.

West Liberty-Salem 18, Cedarville 1: Mady Stratton was 3-for-3 with a double, triple and five RBI for WLS. Kiana Reames added a double and a RBI and Kelsey Day was 2-for-2.

Newton 11, Mississinawa Valley 1: Kacie Tackett doubled, tallied three hits, and drove in two to lead Newton. Haley Pack added a double with two RBI and Brooke Deeter had a triple and a RBI.

Covington 15, Twin Valley South 4: Covington pushed across six runs in the first inning and five in the third to take control. Emma Dammeyer put Covington on the board with a double and Chelsea Ford singled in a pair of runners in the first inning.

Riverside 12, Lehman Catholic 3: Aubrie Stillings collected three hits and three RBI and Shelby Giles also drove in three runs to lead Riverside.

Parkway 13, Fort Loramie 0: Haley Hawk struck out six over six innings to carry Parkway.

Boys Tennis

Fairmont 5, Springfield 0: Murad Nawaz, Jake Haas and Tyler Juhasz all notched singles wins in helping Fairmont sweep the match.

Greenville 5, Tippecanoe 0: Craig Manges won his match in straight sets and Noah Haupt and Branson Leigeber added singles wins for Greenville.

Sidney 5, Piqua 0: Prem Dev, Diachi Urata and Logan Searcy each tallied singles wins in the Sidney’s sweep.

Alter 4, Lehman Catholic 1: Austin Schockman and Aiden Faessler recorded singles wins for Alter. Griffin West beat Adam White in first singles for Lehman’s lone win.

Badin 5, Winton Woods 0: Seth Papania, Max Jorgensen and Patrick Retherford tallied singles wins in the sweep for Badin.

Fenwick 4, Chaminade Julienne 1: Dylan Sagan, Matt Page and Tim Erhart all had wins to help Fenwick sweep the singles portion.

Talawanda 3, Ross 2: Marshall Patterson picked up a singles win and Talawanda swept the doubles portion to take the match. Justin Bolin and Zac Duggins had singles wins for Ross.

Preble Shawnee 5, Northridge 0: Pierce Elliott and Austin Carter took their singles matches in straight sets for Preble.

Waynesville 5, East Clinton 0: Gehrig Habermehl, James Schneider and Seth Sturgill won singles matches in Waynesville’s sweep.

Milton Union 5, Dixie 0: Philip, Nathan and Nick Brumbaugh all had singles wins to lead Milton Union.

Dixie 5, Carlisle 0: Jacob Foster, Mason Swigart and Nathan Scurlock put up singles wins in Dixie’s sweep.

Beavercreek 3, Centerville 0: Zach Lohner recorded eight kills with seven blocks, Parker Mikesch added eight kills with 15 digs and Michael Abbitt tacked on eight kills with four aces for ‘Creek.

Alter 3, Chaminade Julienne 0: Andrew Rose paced Alter with 10 kills and seven digs and Phinu Philip added 6 aces.
