Cross Country
Ohio Caverns Invitational: The hosting West Liberty-Salem girls, ranked No. 4 in the Division III state poll, took first in the 106 runner race. Seven WLS girls placed in the top 15, led by first-place finisher Katelyn Stapleton (19:48.4) and second-place finisher Grade Adams (20:13.4).
Boys Soccer
Alter 3, Bellbrook 1: Michael Owusu put Bellbrook on the board first but Ty Borton, Dominic Ruffolo and Dave Switala rattled off a goal apiece to lead Alter in a rally victory.
Monroe 2, Badin 0: Ben Griffis and Rene Leon scored a goal apiece and keeper Nolan Caudill tallied six saves in the shutout.
Troy Christian 3, Lehman Catholic 1: Troy Christian jumped ahead early with two goals in the first seven minutes. Conor O’Leary had the lone goal for Lehman.
West Liberty-Salem 3, Ben Logan 1: Andrea Salcito, Lance Baldwin and Jacob VanHorn each had a goal for WLS.
Boys Golf
MAC Championship: Kyle Naumann was named the MAC player of the year after leading the field at the tournament. Naumann shot a 74 and teammates Jack Romer added a 77 and Rylee Deitsch a 79.
Girls Golf
MAC Championship: Jorja Pothast was the medalist in leading Versailles to a first-place finish at the tournament. Teammate Lauren Durham was tabbed as the player of the year.
Girls Volleyball
Minster Invitational: Host Minster defeated West Liberty-Salem, Ada and Marion Pleasant to defend home court at the tournament. Russia won the third-place game over Ada.
Springfield 2, Meadowdale 0: Springfield dropped matches to Emmanuel Christian and Milton Union before beating Meadowdale at the Piqua Invitational. Madison Alexander had 11 assists, Lydia Vicek 4 aces and Annalise Forman 5 kills in the winning match.
Tippecanoe 3, Fairmont 0: Cali Stewart and Brooke Aselage chipped in 10 kills apiece and Abby Hughes tacked on 14 digs for Tipp. Brandi Newberry had 17 digs for Fairmont.
Chaminade Julienne 3, Vandalia 2: Sarah Droesch tallied 11 kills with 3 blocks and Victoria Theobald added 5 aces with 21 digs in a losing effort for Vandalia.
Southeastern 3, Urbana 1: Megan Ridder tallied 12 kills and Taylor Adams had 10 digs with 26 assists in a losing effort for Urbana.
National Trail 3, Middletown Christian 0: Brooke Johnson tallied 14 assists with an ace, Tristan Bowers and Lexi Stiner tacked on 6 kills and Trail picked up its first win of the season.
Cedarville 2, Wilmington 0: Cedarville improved to 11-3 after an out of conference tri-match. Cedarville also beat West Carrollton 2-0. Sara Beste led the way with 10 kills, 9 digs, 4 blocks and 5 aces. Grace Stevenson tacked on 10 kills with 2 blocks and 3 digs.
