HS Results 10/12: Lakota East boys golf finishes second at districts

The Division I Southwest Boys district golf tournament was held at Glenview Thursday morning.

St. Xavier finished first overall with a team score of 292, with Oscar Zimmerman coming in first overall with a 70.

Lakota East came in at second, nine behind the first place finisher. Kyle Schmidt had a 71 for Lakota East.

Finishing third was Mason, netting a 308, led by Jack Soper with a 74.

All three teams advance to the next round of the tournament.

Austin Greaser of Butler shot a 70 to qualify. He was joined by Tyler Goecke of Carroll (72) and Lucas Wells of Springfield (73).

Girls Soccer

Greeneview 7, Northeastern 0: Josie Farris netted two goals and one assist in the win.

Greenon 2, West Liberty-Salem 1: Gabby Hollar had the lone score for WLS.

Mechanicsburg 1, West Jefferson 1: Grace Forrest tallied the lone goal for Mechanicsburg.

Miami East 1, Newton 1: McKenna Demido had the Newton goal.

Preble Shawnee 2, Milton Union 1: Nicole Sims and Baily Downard scored for PS.

Girls Volleyball

Bellbrook 3, Eaton 0: Bellbrook finished the regular season undefeated.

Cedarville 3, Southeastern 0: Sara Beste led the attack with 11 kills, eight defensive digs and five aces.

Fairborn 3, Xenia 0: Kayleigh Finlayson led offensively with 12 kills, eight digs and two aces.

Fort Recovery 3, New Knoxville 0: Carly Fleddjohann tallied 30 assists.

Newton 3, Twin Valley South 2: Mallory Dunlevy netted 19 kills.

Northwestern 3, Urbana 0: Megan Ridder led with 10 kills and eight digs.

Wayne 3, Springfield 2: Naomi Hoofkin had a double double with 14 kills and 14 digs for Springfield in the loss.

West Liberty-Salem 3, Mechanicsburg 0: Kaylee Harrison led with 11 digs, nine kills, one block and one serving ace, while going 17-for-18 serving.

Boys Soccer

Alter 5, Cin. Hills Christian Academy 1: Ty Borton and Dominic Ruffolo each scored two goals.

Bethel 6, Twin Valley South 1: Daniel Ross and Joe Miller found the back of the net two times each for Bethel.

Franklin-Monroe 6, Lehman Catholic 5: Jake Emrick netted four goals to set a single-season record of 34 for LC.
