Senior starting quarterback J.T. Barrett threw for 71 yards with a touchdown and an interception before giving way to backups Joe Burrow and Dwayne Haskins.
Burrow threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns without an interception for the Scarlet.
Playing for each side, Haskins totaled 293 yards passing and three touchdowns without an interception.
True freshman Tate Martell came into the game late in the fourth quarter and ran for a touchdown on his first touch.
