This week in Bengals history: Oct. 30

The Cincinnati Bengals have played six games on Oct. 30, and are 4-2.

Here is a quick glance at those contests:

Oct. 30, 2011 – Cincinnati Bengals 34, Seattle Seahawks 12 at CenturyLink Field

The Bengals never trailed and pulled away late to improve to 5-2 with a pair of unconventional touchdowns in the fourth quarter on a Brandon Tate 56-yard punt return and Reggie Nelson 75-yard interception return.

Oct. 30, 2005 – Cincinnati Bengals 21, Green Bay Packers 14 at Paul Brown Stadium

The star of the game, who lives on in YouTube infamy was Greg Gall, a fan who ran onto the field and stole the ball from Brett Favre, disrupting a potential game-tying drive and allowing the Bengals to survive and improve to 6-2.

Oct. 30, 1994 – Dallas Cowboys 23, Cincinnati Bengals 20 at Riverfront Stadium

The 0-7 Bengals jumped out to a 14-0 lead on a pair of long touchdown passes from Jeff Blake to Darnay Scott, but the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Cowboys rallied and broke a 20-20 tie on a Chris Boniol field goal with five minutes to go to.

Oct. 30, 1988 – Cleveland Browns 23, Cincinnati Bengals 16 at Cleveland Stadium

The Browns sacked Boomer Esiason four times and blocked a punt for a touchdown to hand the eventual AFC champions their second loss of the season.

Oct. 30, 1983 – Cincinnati Bengals 34, Green Bay Packers 14 at Riverfront Stadium

Pete Johnson ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns while Turk Schonert threw for a score and ran for another as the Bengals scored 21 second-quarter points to rally from an early deficit.

Oct. 30, 1977 – Cincinnati Bengals 13, Houston Oilers 10 (OT) at Riverfront Stadium

The Oilers scored 10 fourth-quarter points to tie the game, but Chris Bahr’s 22-yard field goal in overtime won it for a Bengals team whose only touchdown came when Willie Shelby recovered a blocked punt in the end zone.
