Jonathan Alder beats Greenville with walk-off home run

Jonathan Alder senior catcher Kayla Fredendall hit a two-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to beat Greenville 5-3 in a Division II regional final at Mason High School on Saturday.

EARLIER: Greenville seeks fourth state berth

The third-ranked Lady Wave lost in the regional final for the third straight season. They finished the season 28-4.

No. 9 Alder (23-4) will make it second state semifinal appearance and its first since 2014. It will play No. 1 Hebron Lakewood (28-1) at 3 p.m. Friday at Firestone Stadium in Akron.
