The high school soccer preseason kicked off this weekend with boys teams playing the Mason Preseason Classic at Heritage Oak Park, while girls teams are competing in Northmont’s Good Samaritan Soccer Classic at the Englewood Soccer Complex.
The Mason games began Friday night and continue all day Saturday and Sunday, with competition in five different divisions. Check out the event website for updates at www.masonpreseasonclassic.com
Boys teams in the top division include Carroll, Bellbrook and Fairmont, along with host Mason and teams from Cincinnati, Columbus and Akron. The second division includes Dayton Christian, Hamilton and Lakota East, among others. The lower divisions include smaller schools as well as JV squads.
The girls games at Northmont run all day Saturday and Sunday. Dozens of local teams are participating, including Centerville, Troy, Lebanon, Wayne, Beavercreek and Fairborn. Schedules can be found at www.northmontsoccerclassic.com
Next week the tournament sites flip, with the boys playing at Northmont, and the girls playing at Mason.
